Philosophy

Our Philosophy encompasses that:

  • Children are capable and encouraged to construct their own learning.

  • We emphasise learning that allows the child to use all their senses and all their languages to learn. We believe that children use many different ways to show their understanding and express their thoughts and creativity.

  • Baby Bell's are dedicated to learning about and acknowledging the traditional owners of the land.

  • Children are driven by their interests and curious nature to understand and learn more.

  • Learning and play are not separated.

  • Children form an understanding of themselves and their place in the world through their interactions with others.

  • We listen to children with respect and encourage them to use language to investigate and explore, to reflect on their experiences. We believe that their questions and observations are an opportunity to learn and search collaboratively. Rather than the child asking a question and the adult offering the answers, this is done together to empower the child.

  • Educator’s support and empower children by allowing the child to learn through their own investigations.

  • We have a holistic approach to your child which allows the child to feel a sense of belonging, being and becoming.

  • The children, families and teachers co-exist together to support open communication and trust.

  • We promote cultural diversity and equity in all aspects.

  • Our environment is safe, secure, sensory rich, natural and aesthetically pleasing with a home away from home feel. An environment that inspires children to learn and grow. We promote open spaces that are free from clutter and have purpose. Our classrooms and outdoor area have been mindfully designed in order to encourage all children with endless opportunities of exploration, collaboration, learning and communication.

  • We emphasise displaying and documenting children’s work in a respectable way making their progress of learning visible to the children, families and educators.

  • Children learn about nutrition, and we supply healthy meals that encourage positive eating habits.

  • Our community are dedicated to promoting and implementing sustainable practices, including edible gardens.

  • We promote the use of recycled, reusable, natural and sustainable resources.
